IUST organises awareness prog on health and cleanliness

Awantipora, August 02: The Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST), Awantipora organised awareness programme on importance of health and maintaining cleanliness at Nagbal, Pakharpora.
The programme was conducted by Alamdar Memorial College of Nursing and Medical Technology-Chrar-e-Sharief, a constituent college of IUST, in pursuant to the directives of Union Ministry of Education and as per National Educational Policy 2020 guidelines.
The main aim of the programme was to sensitize the people about basic health issues, hygiene and garbage disposal, using toilet and hand washing under the theme ‘Basic Health & Hygiene’. The programme was initiated by the Principal of the college Prof. (Dr) Mehmooda Regu during which faculty members guided and trained the students and local villagers.
Prof. Regu elaborated the main aim, objectives and benefits to the villagers under the programme.
The faculty members and students of the college provided door-to-door health education and hygiene awareness in the said village.
Medical officer Pakharpora, Village Sarpanch, and Lambardar of the village were also present.
