Vijaypur, Aug 07: Apni Party (AP) provincial president Jammu and former minister S. Manjit Singh Wednesday said that if Apni Party forms the next government in J&K, it will restore state subject laws for the protection of the constitutional rights of Jammu and Kashmir residents.
According to a statement, addressing a joining programme at Parmandal block in Samba District, Manjit Singh said that Apni Party is committed for the protection of rights of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
“If people vote us to power, we will restore the state subject in J&K,” he said, addressing the party workers.
While welcoming the new entrants into the party, he expressed hope that their joining would strengthen the party at the ground level and asked the party workers to work among the people.
He said, “There is a feeling of betrayal among the people of all the sections. The government has not been able to take up developmental work and the previous projects are still incomplete. The administration has failed to come up to the expectations of the people. Hence, the people want early assembly elections in J&K.”
He said, “Generally people are against the traditional political parties especially Congress Party and BJP. These political parties ruled in Centre and J&K for years but they were not able to do justice with the people. However, BJP snatched the special status of J&K opening jobs, land and natural resources for outsiders and it has become the main source of the feeling of alienation and growing unemployment in J&K.”
He said that the confidence of the people needs to be restored by holding early assembly elections so that an elected government can replace the dominance of bureaucracy and hold them accountable for their wrong doings.
“The Apni Party believes in equitable development of all the regions and the rural belt. We are committed to the protection of the constitutional rights of the people of J&K,” he said and demanded the restoration of statehood.
