New Delhi, Aug 13: To celebrate the health of India, Hamdard’s (med div) campaign ‘SehatHaiTohWatanHai’ will continue till August 14. The campaign started on August 10. A statement from the Hamdard (med div) Saturday said that lot of activity are being organised across their wellness centres in the country, like dental camps, full body check camps, blood & sugar camp, COVID booster shot camp.
“We have also roped in our medical college team from HIMSR (Hamdard Institute of Medical Science and Research) to conduct FREE EYE camp from 10th -13th Aug in Delhi and Gaziabad,” the statement said.
The idea of the campaign, according to the statement, is to bring forth the idea that a strong nation can exist only when the health of their people is intact. It aims to provide free health consultation, conduct 75 health camps, and touch more than 15,000 lives of the brave.
The second wave of COVID tore the country apart. There was death and destruction everywhere around us. But no matter what happened, our armed forces, the police, CRPF, BSF and Coast Guards were on duty no matter where they were-ferrying people across states, patrolling the border or protecting the nation; they were doing their best. It is during that time the initiative was conceived and initiated.
The initiative, according to the statement, has two legs to the execution – one that focuses on the health of the common man, and the second focuses on caring for the health of the keepers of the nation. “Hence, we first launched the initiative with 30% off on all medicines for the armed forces, followed by 75% off on all medicines for all the people in uniform. This came with a string of initiatives that we promised we would do,” the statement said.
This has been a small, yet a very fulfilling initiative. Our armed forces exist solely to ensure that our nation is safe, knowing we have ‘guardians” at the gate, the statement said.
Chairman and the Managing Trustee of Hamdard Abdul Majeed said, “This nation will remain the land of the ‘free’ only so long as it is the home of the brave and healthy.
