Govt notifies sale points for selling sacrificial animals

Srinagar, June 28: The department of Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs (FCS & CA) on Tuesday said that it has notified sales points for selling sacrificial animals for upcoming Eid-Ul-Adha.
Director FCS & CA, Dr. Abdul Salam told Rising Kashmir that the largest mandi will be available for animals in Srinagar areas like Eidgah, Shalteng , Bypass Nowgam and Buchpora.
He said that the fixation rates of sacrificial animals for the year 2022 has already been notified earlier this week.
According to the official order , the Delhi Walla and Merino Cross varieties of Sheep have been fixed at Rs 310 per kg, Bakerwal and Kashmiri varieties at Rs 295 per kg while as the rate for goat has been fixed at Rs 285 per kg.
These rates have been fixed under the J&K Mutton Licensing and Control Order 1973 and SRO 31 of 1974.
Appealing the dealers to sell their stock at the fixed prices, he said, if anybody goes against these rates, the action will be taken against them for violation of orders.
“To keep check on the market, we will depute an additional team who will look into this and will be visible in the city and will also seek help from the revenue department and police.” he further said.
