Four terrorists arrested in Kashmir: Police

Srinagar, June 29: Police on Wednesday said that they along with other security forces have arrested four terrorists in several parts of the Kashmir valley.
According to a spokesman, they arrested two-hybrid terrorists in Bandipora and Budgam districts, and arms, ammunition was recovered from their possession.
A police spokesman said in Bandipora, acting on specific input, Police along with Army (14RR) and CRPF (3rdBn) at a joint checkpoint established at Papchan area of Bandipora.
“In the operation, one hybrid terrorist of proscribed terror outfit LeT along with 01 Chinese Grenade which he had kept inside dicky of his Scooty bearing registration number JK15A-0839. He has been identified as Mehboob-ul-Inam @Farhaan son of Inam-ul-Haq Shah resident of Nadihal Bandipora.
The spokesman said during interrogation, he disclosed that on the directions of proscribed terror outfit LeT he has made a hideout inside his shop at Nadihal Market where LeT terrorists namely Hyder @Abu Muslim, Abu Ismail @Faisal, Abu Hamza Okasha, and Gulzar @Faizan used to stay.
As per police, he also confessed that they had kept arms and ammunition inside the said hideout, which they were planning to provide to new recruits from north Kashmir particularly youth from district Bandipora to strengthen the LeT Cadre and to enhance terrorist-related activities.
“Subsequent to the above disclosure, the said hideout was busted and huge cache of arms, ammunition including 03 AK-47 rifles, 10 AK magazines, 380 AK live rounds, 03 Pouches, 02 YSMS Set, 02 boxes of Detonator, 26 Chargeable pencil cells, 01 Chargeable adaptor, 02 bottles of Penetrating Oil (Sprayed Lubricant), 01 Matric sheet, 02 Pak made Nylon thread, 36 boxes of High Carbon Steel bombs, 05 wire sets for IED, 02Kgs (appx) of IED explosive (RDX), 02 Quechua bags, etc. were recovered,” he said.
In another incident, Police in Budgam arrested one more terrorist associate of proscribed terror outfit LeT in connection with case FIR No. 116/2022 of Police Station Chadoora pertaining to the busting of Narco terror funding module.
He has been identified as Showkat Ahmed Ganie @RK son of Late Mohammad Kamal Ganie resident of Shiekhpora Wathoora, Chadoora.
Meanwhile, police said that they arrested two uncategorized terrorists in Sopore, and arms, ammunition was recovered from their possession.
The accused were identified as Adnan Ashiq War resident of Warpora Sopore and Zubair Ahmad Sofi resident of Fatehgarh Baramulla.
A police spokesman said joint Naka was established by PC  Sopore along with 22 RR,179 CRPF at Chinar crossing in the jurisdiction of police station Sopore.
“During checking, a suspicious movement of two persons coming from  Sopore towards Warpora was noted and were subsequently asked to stop, but they tried to flee from the spot, however, were tactfully apprehended by the security forces,” he said.
Police recovered 02 pistols, 02 magazines, and 14 pistol rounds were recovered from their possession.
