Samba, June 27: Senior AamAadmi Party (AAP) leader and former minister YashpalKundal Monday demanded transfer of all non-Muslim employees serving in the Kashmir Valley to Jammu division till the security situation improves.
Kundal said, in a statement, that all the employees and their families serving in Kashmir are going through a mentally depressive state with a sense of insecurity at the place of their posting.
Reserve category employees are protesting in Jammu since last one month and demanding their transfer to Jammu/ their respective districts keeping in view the threat perception after killing of innocent civilians and government employees.
The government should accept their demands and transfer them to Jammu. Kundal said that the reserved category employees were serving in remote and rural areas of Kashmir for the last two decades and they never faced any threat to their lives. But due to the failures of the government, today they have to live under the shadow of fear every day.
He further said that these people have contributed in the field of education, revenue and other departments of Kashmir by helping the local population. However, right now the situation has become dangerous for the Kashmiri outsiders. Therefore, the government should order the transfer of the reserved category employees to the districts of Jammu till the security situation improves.
Drawing further attention to the workers who have been protesting in Jammu for the past one month, Kundal said, "These people are insecure and the government should not ignore their demand which is right in view of the current situation in Kashmir. Humanitarian response to their demands."
