Five residential houses damaged partiallyin Bemina blaze

Srinagar, Aug 22: At least five residential houses were partially damaged in a fire incident in Nundresh Colony A in Bemina area of Srinagar on Monday afternoon, said officials. 
An official from the Fire and Emergency Services Department (F&ES) told Rising Kashmir that five residential houses suffered partial damage as their top floor with attic got damaged in the fire, however, said that one residential house suffered damage to it’s attic only. 
“On receiving the report of a fire incident at Nundresh colony A in Bemina area, men of F&ES were pressed in for fire extinguishing operation. Five residential houses had suffered partial damage as their top floor with attic had got damaged in the fire, and one residential house suffered damage to it’s attic only, however timely operation prevented the spread of the fire,” he said.
Official added that two other houses also suffered minor damages as a few of their windows got damaged in the fire incident.
Meanwhile, police officials also confirmed the fire incident and said there was no report of any major injury to anyone during the fire incident at Nundresh Colony A Bemina.
Along with the F&ES and Police, Locals were also seen helping in dousing off the flames to prevent any further damage.
The immediate cause of the fire was also not known, however, police have taken cognizance of the incident and have started the investigation to ascertain the cause of the fire, the official said.
