Div Com refutes rumours over shortage of petroleum products in valley

Stocking petroleum products more than requirements not needed

Srinagar, June 18: Divisional Commissioner Kashmir P K Pole on Saturday refuted the rumours over the shortage of petroleum products in the valley and said adequate petroleum products are available in the valley.
On the side-lines of an inaugural event at Srinagar, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir P K Pole, due to the transportation issues of an oil company their particular petrol pump stations faced a partial shortage.  
 
“One of the oil companies had issues with their transportation, due to which there was a partial shortage of petroleum products on their outlets which is likely to get over today, however at IOC, BPC stations there was no shortage of fuel and has the availability of petroleum products”, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir said.
 
Pole said that some of the people stocked the petroleum products unnecessarily beyond their requirement and said there is nothing like shortage or any major price rise to happen.
 
Notably, the Assistant Director FCS & CA Wani in a recent order directed all the Tehsil Supply Officers (TSOs) not to supply petrol or diesel in plastic bottles or canes.
 
As per the order, "All the Tehsil Supply officers of Srinagar are directed to keep a strict vigil on all oil filling stations of Srinagar district and direct them not to issue petrol, diesel in plastic bottles or canes to any customer."
 
It also said, "In case of violation, the license of the particular petrol station will be cancelled." Furthermore, you are directed to report stock sales and distribution to this office daily without fail.
 
The employees have also been directed that strict action will be taken for non-compliance with the order.
