DGP sanctions Rs 14.50 lakh meritorious scholarship for police wards

Jammu, July 03: The Director-General of Police, Dilbag Singh Saturday sanctioned scholarship worth Rs 14.50 lakh in favour of 230 meritorious wards of serving police personnel.
A statement said, the scholarship has been sanctioned to cultivate competitive approach among the wards of J&K police personnel.
As per an order of Police Headquarters over rupees 14.50 lakh has been sanctioned in favour of 230 wards who have excelled in the annual examination of class 12th during the academic session 2020-21.
The amount has been sanctioned out of the Central Police Welfare Fund.
Sixty wards who have secured 90 percent and above marks have been given a meritorious scholarship of rupees 7200 each. Whereas, 170 wards who have secured 80 percent and above marks have been rewarded with scholarship of rupees 6000 each.
“Police Headquarters has been sanctioning scholarships, rewards, welfare loan and relief for police personnel, wards of martyred and serving/retired police personnel under different schemes to boost their morale,” the statement added.
