DG Horticulture visits Pulwama; inspects orchards, staff attendance

Srinagar, August 04: Director-General, Horticulture Kashmir, Ajaz Ahmad Bhat Wednesday visited Pulwama district to inspect high-density orchards during which he directed the field functionaries to provide all possible help to farmers.
The DG also paid a surprise visit to various subordinate offices of the department in the district to check staff attendance. He took stock of daily routine work in the offices and stressed on accountability and transparency in the work.
During his visit to various high-density orchards, he interacted with the farmers and patiently listened to their issues and demands. He assured them of redressal of their genuine issues.
He instructed the field functionaries of the department to provide all technical know-how to the orchardists’ right from training and pruning to harvesting including thinning, fertigation, nutrient management, pest/disease management etc.
The Director General warned that any laxity on the part of field functionaries will entail strict action against them.
