DG Horticulture visits Fruit Plant Nursery Tral, warns of action against encroachers

Srinagar, August 01: The Director-General (DG), Horticulture Kashmir, Ajaz Ahmad Bhat Sunday conducted an extensive tour of Tral sub-division in Pulwama district on the instructions of Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir.
During the tour, the DG Horticulture visited Fruit Plant Nursery Tral where he assessed the level of illegal encroachment of Nursery land by the locals. He issued on spot instructions for demarcation of Nursery land along with revenue authorities so that the government land can be retrieved back.
He warned that strict action will be taken against the illegal encroachers.
On the occasion, the Director-General also took a review of the developmental works at the Nursery. He then paid a visit to greenhouses and Nursery area and reviewed different cultural operations being carried out and stressed on timely completion of budding and other operations so as to propagate quality fruit plants.
Later, he visited various high-density orchards of the area and appreciated the hard work done by the farmers. He also advised the orchardists to have a close liaison with field functionaries of the department. He directed the officials of the department to provide necessary guidance to the farmers from time to time.
The DG was accompanied by Chief Horticulture Officer Pulwama and other officials of the department during the visit.
