DG horticulture visits Budgam, inspects departmental farms, nurseries

Srinagar, July 19: The Director-General Horticulture, Kashmir Ajaz Ahmad Bhat Monday conducted an extensive tour of district Budgam where he inspected departmental farms and nurseries.  
He was accompanied by Chief Horticulture Officer, Budgam and other officers of the department.
During the tour, Bhat visited various farms and nurseries and took stock of various developmental activities. He stressed upon judicious use of inputs, so as to propagate quality fruit plants.
He also met some progressive orchardists of the district and advised them to avail the benefits of different departmental schemes, especially newly launched Modified High Density Plantation Scheme.
Later, the Director-General had an interaction with the field staff of the district and directed them to give vide publicity to different departmental schemes. He further instructed the officers to make frequent field visits to provide the growers with latest technical knowhow.
