DDC Shopian tours Keegam, adjacent villages; reviews dev works

Shopian, Aug 11: The District Development Commissioner (DDC), Shopian, Sachin Kumar Vaishya Wednesday visited Keegam and its adjacent villages to take stock of ongoing developmental works being executed by various agencies.
The DDC, on the occasion, stressed for completing all under-construction works within the shortest possible time. He also directed the concerned to ensure regular monitoring of works to get them completed at the earliest.
He also paid surprise visit to Primary Health Centre, Tukoora and interacted with the patients and attendants to enquire about the facilities being provided to them at the facility. He exhorted the health functionaries to work with utmost dedication and zeal.
Vaishya also inspected the macadamisation work of the main road of Tukoora to Wathoo and stressed the concerned executing agency to speed up the work.
During the visit, The DDC also met several public delegations who put forth various developmental issues of their villages before him like scarcity of potable drinking water, electricity, road connectivity, drainage system, solar lighting, fencing of playing fields and shrines etc.
The DDC gave them a patient hearing and issued on spot directions to the concerned officers for early redressal of the public issues.
Vaishya directed BDO Shopian to ensure plantation around the playing field besides fencing of other playing fields.
Tehsildar Keegam, Block Development Officer, Shopian and other concerned officers were also present.
