Jammu, July 16: Congress Saturday announced to hold Satyagreh on July 21 over the alleged misuse of Central investigation agencies, recruitment scams in J&K and playing with the careers of unemployed youths and rising prices.
A statement from the party said that the meeting decided to hold a peaceful protest dharna against the Centre government. The decision was taken in a meeting held at PCC HQ ShahidiChowk, Jammu under the chairmanship of PCC chief Ghulam Ahmad Mir, the statement added.
According to the statement, addressing the meeting, Mir said that nationwide peaceful protest dharna is being organized at all state HQs against the “vindictive politics of Modi government” against the Congress leadership, when there is nothing illegal in the matter of National Herald Newspaper case.
Mir said that the BJP government has failed on all fronts especially on the unprecedented price hike and record unemployment, so it has no other way to divert the attention of the people.
He said that Congress has held peaceful Satyagraha against the misuse of enforcement directorate (ED) and other investigation agencies by the Modi government against opposition especially Congress party, which is the worst form of undeclared emergency.
