Cong organizes ‘Bharat Jodo Padyatra’ against govt’s alleged ‘wrong’ policies

Jammu, Aug 14: JKPCC general secretary and former MLA Thakur Balwan Singh Sunday led Congress Bharat JodoPadyatra which started from JanipurChowk and culminated at Bantalab to strengthen the bonds of social harmony that are under stress, to preserve the foundational values of our Constitution that are under assault, and to highlight the day-to-day concerns of crores of our people and against price rise, unemployment and imposition of Goods and Services Tax on essential food items. The Padyatra attended by former Minister ManoharLalSharma,Chairman JKPCC Refugee Cell VinodSharma,former PYC President Pranav Shagotra,Chairman JKPCC SC Cell Karan Bhagat, Chairman JKPCC Sports Cell Narinder Gupta, Senior Congress leaders HoshairSingh,AshokBhagat, Ward President JanipurShambu Prasad, Block President Balwal , Rajdev Singh Jamwal,Coordinator PCC SC Cell Advocate KhilariLal,Gurmeet Singh besides others.
Speaking on the occasion, Balwan Singh criticizing the policies of the BJP-led government said "we regret snatching the statehood of Jammu and Kashmir and transforming it into a Union Territory.
Citing the growing unemployment in the country, the Congress leader said J&K is one of the regions which tops the list with 22 percent unemployment as a result of which you can see the protesting youth on the roads every now and then.
