Budgam, July 22: CMO Budgam on Friday chaired the meeting of gynaecologists, Anaesthetists and some medical officers of district Budgam to review and adress the issues faced by patients especially ANC patients and asked for full proof mechanism in dealing such cases.
He stressed to make a strategy to enhance NVD s(Normal Vaginal Deliveries) and to decrease the ratios of LSCS. He stresses upon all gynaecologists that understanding women's perceptions towards modes of delivery in different cultures can pave way for promoting programs and policies in support of vaginal delivery. He elaborated tha C. Section was first introduced to reduce the risk for mother and foetus.
However, C section is perceived as an escape from labor pain, and the false assumption that C Section is painless, safer, and healthier than vaginal delivery and has become prevalent among women. He highlighted the need of counselling to expecting mothers during their pregnancy period to make them prepared for vaginal deliveries.

Availability of staff and functioning of first referral unit at SDH chadoora was also discussed threadbare. In order to provide such first referral facilities to people living in far flung areas of khag, beerwah, soibugh, Budgam and adjacent areas, it was discussed to start such facility at SDH Beerwah. He directed all BMOs to maintain the roster of doctors as well as paramedics as per the norms  and to manage pre and post offs strictly as per the guidelines. Various other issues regarding the facilities to be provided to patients at door steps were also discussed. Dr Tajamulreteriatedthat patients are our priority and he will not compromise on this issue.
