Srinagar, June 16: Authorities on Thursday said they will attend all damaged and dilapidated roads in Srinagar district, adding “The process of black topping will be completed by the end of this month”.
Providing details, the Chief Engineer, Department of Roads and Buildings, Rafiq Ahmad Rafiq told Rising Kashmir that besides other parts of the valley, the roads of the Srinagar district will also be attended and addressed in the ongoing month.
The CE asserted that all city roads which are in shambles will be addressed and macadamized by the end of this month.
He said being the capital of the UT, the roads in the Srinagar district will be covered first and on priority basis.
Notably the majority of roads in the city are full of potholes and people in general are facing immense hardships during commutation. Besides, the damaged roads lead to slow vehicular movement that causes frequent traffic snarls throughout the day, particularly in peak hours, wasting precious time of commuters.
“It will remain our priority to provide hassle free commutation to travellers, so by the end of this month, the R&B will take up city roads and macadamize them accordingly”, the CE R&B said.
