Chest pain can occur due a number of conditions. Mostly these conditions are non cardiac. However its important to identify symptoms due to blockage in heart vessels.
Chest pain due to blockages is called as angina. Anginal chest pain has several important features. Anginal pain occurs on exertion, lasts for few minutes and is relieved by rest. Its dull, non localised pain in left side of chest and may radiate to jaw, left arm, back. It may be associated with breathlessness, sweating, nausea etc. Its important to identify these symptoms . immediate medical attention sought at right time can prevent serious complication.
