Keller, Shopian, July 05: Apni Party (AP) president Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari Tuesday castigated “dynast” politicians for allegedly “misleading” people of Jammu and Kashmir for the past 72 years.
He was addressing a gathering of party workers here at Keller Tehsil in South Kashmir's Shopian district on Tuesday.
"As a representative of common man we convey to these dynasts that you have misled us in the name of plebiscite, autonomy and self-rule" he said, adding that Mufti Muhammad Syed fought against dynasty rule in Jammu and Kashmir but, unfortunately, he left behind his own dynasty.
Bukhari said that the worst thing is that both these dynast families have now joined together in the shape of PAGD.
He said that a number of small parties initially joined them but now they have started leaving the amalgam one by one.
“These small parties realised this alliance is a hoax to mislead common people,” Bukhari said.
He said that he recently heard NC president, Farooq Abdullah saying that there were only these two parties in the PAGD.  He added that these two political parties decided to fight the coming assembly elections in Kashmir together.
"This pre-poll alliance was announced to cover each other," Bukhari said, adding that the two parties will get exposed before people if they fight elections as opponents.
He said that leaders of the Apni party met the Prime Minister and Home Minister of the country in broad daylight and leaders of the PAGD met them secretly.
He further said that people of Jammu and Kashmir have certain issues and it is the Prime Minister and Home Minister of India who can address them.
"These issues can't be solved by the president of America, " he said.
He said that the PAGD leaders mislead people by saying that they have resolved to restore the special position of Jammu and Kashmir.
"They fought parliamentary elections for safeguarding article 370 and 35 A and people voted for Farooq Abdullah and other leaders of NC  but when the article was read down, they didn't resign from their parliamentary seats," he said.
He said that the PAGD leaders leave no stone unturned in appeasing ruling BJP party in their in camera meetings.
He said that people will teach” them a lesson in coming elections for eroding the culture and identity of Jammu and Kashmir.
Apni party (AP) president also promised Keller residents of a degree college and high lift irrigation scheme provided their party comes to power.
