B’pora cricketer Nasir Lone called for IPL trials by Mumbai Indians, Kings XI Punjab

Srinagar, Dec 13: After being called for trials by Mumbai Indians, J&K all-rounder, Nasir Lone gets another trial call-up from IPL franchisee Kings XI Punjab.
24 –years- old, Nasir, has been asked to attend trials on December 16 at Bangalore.
"I will be attending Mumbai Indian trials on December 15 at Mumbai and soon after I will attend trials for Punjab Kings on December 16, 17 at Bangalore," Lone confirmed to Rising Kashmir.
Nasir is overjoyed after receiving two selection trial calls from duo IPL Franchisee, first from Mumbai Indians and another call- up from Punjab Kings.
The right arm medium pacer, right hand batsman is also a good fielder.
 He recently was part of the under 25 Men’s State A team squad which played at Hyderabad.
 “I was third highest run getter and highest wicket taker with a ball in Men’s State A Trophy, I scored 125 runs in three innings and took seven wickets in five matches in 50 over’s match format,” he says.
Hailing from Gund Kaiser Village in North Kashmir’s Bandipora district, he received his intermediate education from Government Higher Secondary Kaloosa Bandipora and has pursued his B.Sc degree from Government Degree College Bandipora.
Second among three siblings, the cricketing sensation has started his cricketing journey by playing local clubs.
 “I started playing cricket when I was studying in 9th standard in a local club, Bandipora cricket club,” he says.
 In 2014 Lone was selected in the under 19 age group through Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association, since then he has not looked back.
“I got selected through JKCA for the first time in 2014-15 (season) in which  I performed well and impressed selectors soon after which I received a call for Zonal Cricket Academy (ZCA) camp , then in the 2016-17 season  I played under 19 one more time,” he says.
 In 2018-19 and 2019-20 he played under 23 age category and in 2020-21 he was part of the senior J&K team who played Vijay Hazare.
 Lone says that his joy knew no bounds after he got a call from the Mumbai Indians team for trials in Mumbai for IPL 2022, auction of which will be held later. 
“Reaching to this level is a dream for every cricketer and I am so excited which cannot be expressed in words,” he says.
 He says being part of the Indian team is a dream of every cricketer of the country.
 “This is a big opportunity for me in which I can get a chance to play with my role models like Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni,” he says.
 He says he has played state level matches and he will give hundred percent so that he could be selected for the Mumbai Indians team for the IPL.
 “I am grateful to all my mentors, parents and team mates who stood by me and believed in my potential and guided me through this journey,” he says.
