Jammu, July 20: To boost the election campaign of Bharatiya Janata Party in Jammu North Assembly segment, an office of Jammu North Mandal was opened at Janipur, here.
The office was inaugurated by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) District President Rural Rajinder Singh Chib in presence of former MLA and senior BJP leader Shivdev Singh.
Hundreds of BJP activists and supporters gathered at the spot to show their zeal for working in the Assembly polls.
Addressing the massive gathering, Rajinder Singh Chib said that the time has come to give a befitting reply to the forces who are least bothered about the development of Jammu and Kashmir. He said that from the last 70 years, the State of Jammu and Kashmir has been living under a deep slumber of darkness and BJP is committed to take out the State from the era of darkness and take it to the new heights of achievements.
“We open this office in order to discuss and listen to the grievances of the public under one roof” he said and appealed to people of the areas to visit the office and discuss their issues with the BJP leaders for early redressal.
Shivdev Singh said that BJP is the only party who works on the agenda of development and the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has shown that BJP does not get distracted by its development agenda.
He also appealed to the gathering to promote the vision of the Prime Minister for the J&K and the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
He said that an office serves as a place where people can visit and meet the party leaders of their respective areas.
He said that the BJP has achieved the distinction of being the largest political party and more and more people have been getting associated with it every day. It becomes important on part of the party to provide a permanent and easily accessible place to the public for direct interactions with the party leadership.
BJP Kisan Cell Leader Omi Khajuria, Corporators Surinder Sharma, Tara Chand and Kapil Singh Chib, Sarpanchs Kaka Singh, Kuljeet Singh, Pawan Singh and Joginder Sharma besides Gilli Manhas and others were also present on the occasion.
