BGSBU celebrates ‘National Mathematics Day’

Rajouri, Dec 23: Department of Mathematical Sciences, Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University Rajouri celebrated National Mathematics Day.
On the occasion, the Department invited prominent mathematicians across the country to deliver online lectures on various themes of study.
The day was celebrated in connection with the countrywide Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations. Prof. Akbar Masood, Vice Chancellor of the University congratulated the Department for organising the event.
In his message, Prof. Akbar paid rich tributes to great India mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan for his exemplary contributions in the field of mathematics.
Prof. Akbar mentioned that India has produced some of the finest Mathematicians of the world who contributed immensely in the field of mathematics.
Those who delivered online lectures included Prof. K.S. Charak, HoD , Department of Mathematics, University of Jammu, Prof. Rashmi Bhardwaj, Guru Gobind Singh Inderprastha University and Prof. Zafar Ahsan. Dr. Zaheer Abbas, Head Department of Mathematics, BGSBU delivered the welcome address and introduced speakers to the audience. Faculty members, research scholars and students of the department participated in the event.
