Authorities close down Peth Makhama Bridge after it turns unsafe

BUDGAM: The authorities in Budgam district have closed the Peth Makhama Bridge for the traffic movement after it turned unsafe due damages caused by to incessant rains and flood-like situations in the past few days.
 
Executive Engineer, Roads and Buildings Department, Budgam, Mohammad Ashraf Bhat told the Rising Kashmir that the Peth Makhama Bridge has been closed for the traffic movement as rains and subsequent flash flood in the Nallah Sukhnag.
 
"Our technical teams will go to see the condition of the bridge. Any decision regarding it will be taken afterwards.”
 
Bhat said the traffic movement which is coming from the various villages of the Beerwah Tehsil towards the Magam through the Makhama route needs to follow the Khanihuma route. 
 
Twitter Handler of the District information centre, Budgam has tweeted that the Peth makhama bridge was barricaded. “The bridge has been closed by the administration after it turned unsafe due to incessant rains & flood-like situation. The public is appealed to cooperate,” the tweet quoting DC Budgam said.
