Army soldier injured, terrorists flee in Kulgam: Police

Srinagar, July 27: An Army soldier was injured in a brief exchange of gunfire between terrorists and security forces in Baryihard Kathpora village of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district.
A senior police officer told Rising Kashmir that during the initial exchange of fire, an army soldier received minor injuries and was hospitalized. The condition of soldier is stable and is out of danger, he said.
“Two terrorists who were trapped in encounter site managed to give slip to the forces parties. Both of them managed to escape and nothing was found in search,” the officer said.
He said they are tracing their inputs. “On early Wednesday morning, after a joint party of Special Operations Group of police, Army, and CRPF cordoned the area on a specific input about the presence of terrorists in the area,” he added.
The operation was called off after the entire area was sanitized, the police officer said.
