Army organizes blood donation camp in Delina Baramulla

 Baramulla, 08 Aug: Delina  Army Camp of UPLONA Rashtriya Rifles Batallion organized a ' Joint Civil - Military Blood Donation Camp ' in Delina village of North Kashmir’s Baramulla district on a volunteer basis on the occasion of upcoming Independence Day.

 
 The camp was organised to generate a blood pool for the blood bank at GMCH, Baramulla. The main aim of this event was to create awareness about the importance of blood donation and its positive effect on the human body.
 
The volunteers from the Blood network Baramulla and Police also took an active part in the event. The camp was looked after by the expert of the GMCH Baramulla and the medical team of Uplona Rashtriya rifles.
 
An Army officer said  Delina being the Central location of the Baramulla and Pattan as well as its proximity from the road, a  large turnout was seen. 
 
More than 130 individuals turned up for the blood donation camp out of which 80 individuals of different age groups donated the blood and an awareness camp was conducted while following all Covid19 precautions, he said.
 
During the camp, DC Baramulla Dr. Syed Sehrish Asgar  and Colonel Hrishikesh Walknis, CO 52 RR along with Municipal Chairman Touseef Raina, Congress Spokesperson Amir Sheikh attended the camp.
 
 In this camp face masks and hand sanitizers were also distributed and people were briefed about all Covid-19 precautions to be taken.
 
  The people of this area were greatly benefited from this initiative, they appreciated the efforts made by the Indian Army and requested for more such blood donation camps to be organized in the future.
