Jammu, May 09: Apni Party (AP) youth wing leaders and workers Monday staged a peaceful protest against the alleged “mismanagement” of administration at SMGS hospital in Shalimar in Jammu City.
A party statement said that led by the state coordinator, youth wing, Sunny Kant Chib, the youth wing leaders assembled at the premises of the SMGS hospital and protested against the inability of the hospital authorities to handle the issues emerging in handling the patients and newly born babies.
Chib alleged that the administration’s failure can be gauged from the fact that one bed is occupied by three to four patients in the hospital which adds more problems.
“The patients are kept in a very uncomfortable situation during the period of their treatment or delivery time and they also do not get good care during the time of their stay,” he said.
He further said that they have received complaints several times and the hospital management has not been able to work out the issues being raised by the patients.
“The attendants with the patients have to face harassment. The staff is mostly unfriendly to them which is again a serious issue for the patient as well as her attendants,” he said.
He demanded that the management of the hospital must review the situation and resolve it as early as possible.
He said that there is no ventilator equipped ambulance in the SMGS hospital to shift the premature baby in case of emergency.
He said that people from various areas and even far flung areas come to this hospital for treatment but they meet with ignorance from the authorities.
