AP prez appeals LG to reconsider ban on quarrying of minerals

Pulwama, July 15: Apni Party supremo Syed Mohammad AltafBukhari on Friday talked about quarrying of stones in the area. He appealed to the LG of Jammu and Kashmir and authorities of Geology and Mining department to reconsider ban on quarrying of minerals.
He was speaking to the media on the sidelines of a party workers’ convention here at Konibal locality of Saffron town Pampore in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
“Authorities allow mining for cement, they should also allow poor quarry labourers to resume mining for stones,” he demanded, adding these labourers earn their livelihood from quarrying.
He said that the poor quarry workers should be guided by the concerned department on how to mine, keeping in view the renewed mining plan so that the environment is also safe from harm.
He said around 10 lakh people derive their livelihood from quarrying of minerals.
He also said that projects, which were framed from time to time for improving cultivation of saffron, were not implemented on the ground the way they should have been implemented.
He promised that JKAP will have a focused approach on saffron provided they come to power.
He added that JKAP is holding party conventions as a part of their public outreach programme.
“We have no political animosity with any party, ours is a struggle between truth and false -hood,” he said, adding that their party informs people what is true and what is false.
“There has been a tremendous response to our politics of truth,” he said, adding that there will be a change in Jammu and Kashmir in coming days by having a new government.
“The government will speak truth and with truth it will perform well for people,” he said
