AP leader Manjit Singh appeals to maintain communal harmony in J&K

Jammu, June 10: Apni Party (AP) provincial president Jammu, Manjit Singh Friday appealed to the people of Jammu and Kashmir to maintain communal harmony and mutual brotherhood.
To review the emerging situation in J&K following statements which triggered communal tension in some parts of Chenab Valley in particular, Apni Party organized a meeting under the leadership of the provincial president, Jammu, Manjit Singh in which other leaders were also present.
In his address, Manjit Singh said that Jammu and Kashmir always remained a peaceful state and the government should act strictly under the law against the elements who want to create communal tension.
“The incidents which have become the cause of tension and hurting sentiments of a community and responses thereafter were unfortunate. It is the time for the members of civil society, politicians, educationists, and the administration to ensure peace,” he said.
He said that it is also the responsibility of religious heads of both the communities to hold meetings and convince the people to avoid any kind of further communal tension. He said that the legal action should be taken strictly under the law and convene meetings to maintain communal harmony.
