Srinagar, Aug 01: BharatiyaJanata Party (BJP) J&K Executive Member Raman SuriMonday said that Shri AmarnathJiYatra bound pilgrims are elated over the arrangements made by various departments of the J&K Union Territory Government and local population including shopkeepers, vendors, transporters, pony owners and all those associated with the Yatra.
Expressing their gratitude to Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha for ensuring smooth conduct of yatra, these pilgrims are having a very good time in Jammu & Kashmir.
According to a statement, Raman Suri, during his three-day visit to Kashmir, met a number of pilgrims at Mata KheerBhawani Temple, Dal Lake, Guest houses and at Shri Shankaracharyaji Temple and enquired about their well-being besides asked them about the facilities made available to them. He observed that pilgrims were appreciative of the local population of Kashmir who, they said, go an extra mile to ensure pilgrims' comfortable stay and provide every possible help to them. Lauding the hospitality of the local population, the pilgrims were having a good time and resolved to return with more vigour the next year as well for the Annual Shri Amarnathji pilgrimage. Raman Suri interacted with visitors from Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Punjab, Haryana and from abroad too, and took their views. He observed that pilgrims were feeling safe besides enjoying the facilities provided by various departments of Union Territory Government.
The BJP leader got the feedback that pilgrims were having memorable time sight-seeing and staying in houseboats besides having Shikara ride, the most famous boat ride of Kashmir.
Raman Suri also assured them that the J&K administration besides local population of Kashmir has been facilitating the annual Shri Amarnathjiyatra since ages with much fanfare, displaying the hospitality that runs in their blood.
Raman Suri, during his interaction with the Yatris from all over India besides local traders and various social organisations, also enquired about their experience with the facilities, especially the ones introduced this year, provided by various government agencies including security agencies, health department and all other government departments that are working round the clock to facilitate smooth conduct of the yatra. He also lauded the efforts of National Disaster Management Authority for rescuing pilgrims well in time during flash floods and cloudbursts.
He assured the Yatris that the Government and people of Jammu & Kashmir always look forward for this yatra as it brings with it not only pilgrims but also tourists, who add to their economy and prosperity. This annual pilgrimage is a festival in itself which the pilgrims and local people celebrate together, he said, adding that elaborate arrangements all along the route have built confidence amongst the masses, who are appreciative of the efforts of UT government as well as the security agencies, that are manning the mountains and highways round the clock.
