Jammu, Oct 21: All Jammu and Kashmir Panchayat Conference (AJKPC) and representatives of Urban Local Bodies (ULBs), including Corporators of Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) Thursday paid rich tributes to police martyrs and recalled the contribution of martyrs to safeguard the sovereignty and integrity of the country.
A statement from the group said that UT president of AJKPC, Anil Sharma, along with several Corporators of JMC, visited the Police Martyrs Memorial site at Rail Head, here and offered their floral tributes to the martyrs.
On the occasion, Sharma said the country would forever remain indebted to the brave-hearts who did not bother to sacrifice their lives to protect the sovereignty of the nation.
“We will always remain indebted for the supreme sacrifice of police martyrs who have sacrificed their lives in the line of duty. We salute their valour and courage,” the AJKPC chief said.
Sharma said that the Police department under the leadership of Director General of Police (DGP), J&K, Dilbagh Singh, has been doing yeoman services towards the people of Jammu and Kashmir. “Our country is safe because of the sacrifice of police personnel. We have the best officers in the Police Department who have been working tirelessly to ensure the safety and security of every individual,” he added.
The JMC Corporators, comprising Narotam Sharma, Jagdish Kumar, Sat Paul Karlupia, Ashok Singh Manhas, and SardarSuchha Singh, also paid floral tributes and recalled the supreme sacrifices of police martyrs.
