Ahead of Eid-Ul-Adha, DC Srinagar directs constitution of 7 inspection teams

Srinagar, July 02: Ahead of Eid-UlAdha, District Administration Srinagar under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Aijaz Asad has directed the constitution of seven inspection teams across all the Tehsils of the district, said an official on Saturday.
A top official from the district administration Srinagar told Rising Kashmir that the Deputy Commissioner has directed the constitution of seven teams across all Tehsils to prevent illegal profiteering and black marketing by business establishments operating in Srinagar.
The official said that Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, directed to intensify the market checking and ensure all commodities including meat, chicken bakery and sweets are sold at already Government fixed rates, besides that directions were passed to ensure availability of all essential supplies in the market to avoid hoardings and illegal profiteering.
“Special Market Checking teams under the supervision of concerned Tehsildar and SDMs which also comprises officials from Police, Food Safety Wing of Drugs & Food Control Organization, SMC, FCS&CA and Legal Metrology Departments have been constituted ”, the official said.
The official said that random inspections will be held across the city, and in case any citizen has any complaint with respect to the rates or quality or weight, they can approach nearest police stations or concerned Tehsildar.
The Deputy Commissioner Srinagar earlier during a review meeting also directed the SMC authorities to ensure proper sanitation and cleanliness at all places particularly around prominent Ziyarats and Masjids besides ensuring proper functioning of all street lights.
“Directions were also given by DC Srinagar to take appropriate measures for ensuring that Sacrificial Goat, Sheep are sold at already Government notified rates in their respective jurisdictions”, the official added.
