Ahead of Eid, Srinagar roads witness no major traffic jams

Srinagar, July 09: To ensure the smooth movement of traffic ahead of Eid-Ul-Adha, Srinagar Traffic Police authorities on Saturday continued with the deployment of a specialized two-wheeler traffic squad to break on the traffic snarls and congestions in the first instance.
Superintendent City traffic police, Muzaffar Ahmad told Rising Kashmir that before the Eid-Ul-Adha a sketch was drawn to plan the traffic movement in Srinagar after which specialized two-wheeler traffic personnel teams were constituted to break on the traffic congestion if reported.
“Ahead of Eid-Ul-Adha several meetings were held to plan to the traffic, so by today evening the traffic movement across the district overall has been smooth especially in the city Centre which witnesses maximum of footfall during these days”, SSP traffic City said.
Meanwhile, ground reports reaching Rising Kashmir said that smooth traffic movements were witnessed in Lal Chowk, Batamaloo, Residency &Moulana Azad Road, Dalgate, Byepass, Eidgah, BohriKadal, and other areas in the city.
The top officer said with the support of the people and throughout duties by traffic personnel on the ground ensured smooth movement of traffic in the Srinagar district. 
He added that there are many areas in Srinagar where road condition is to be either upgraded or repaired which is being looked up by the concerned agencies.
