Jammu, Jun 25: Provincial President National Conference, Rattan Lal Gupta has accused the Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory Administration of wasting the funds of exchequer by spending lavishly on the so-called Smart City projects in the twin capital cities of J&K. He said that while the common people across the region are struggling to get the basic amenities necessary for survival, the government is making tall claims of development in the name of various costly projects including its most parroted Smart City Projects.
Rattan Lal Gupta said that people are craving to get regular supply of power and water in the summer season when these are required the most.
Taking a dig at the Administration, he said that painting walls will not make Jammu Smart City but if the Government itself becomes smart then it will automatically lead to all the cities and towns becoming smart cities. He asserted that it would be better if the Government showed serious concern for providing basic amenities to people, especially ensuring regular power and water supply instead of wasting funds on the Smart City Project.
Rattan Lal Gupta said that the only panacea to the people’s miseries is the National Conference. He impressed upon the party workers and activists to further strengthen the National Conference party base.
