Srinagar, Aug 03: AamAdmi Party (AAP) J&K Unit Wednesday said the party will utilize its best efforts to restore the confidence of youth who are dejected from the system and don’t want to participate in electoral politics.
Addressing a press conference here in Srinagar, AAP senior leader, Dr.Nawab Nasir said the party is meant for restoring the confidence of youth towards mainstream politics.
He said AAP will utilize its best efforts to restore the lost confidence of youth who are currently dejected from the system and don’t want to engage in electoral politics.
Speaking over the ‘Biryani Scam’ in Jammu & Kashmir Football Association, the AAP senior leader urged present dispensation to move beyond probes and expose the culprits in public domain.
“AAP urges Lieutenant Governor J&K to intervene into this grave matter and expose the culprits in public domain,” Dr.Nawab Nasir said and added, “Those involved in the scam should be given exemplary punishment”.
“We don’t believe in chatting from AC rooms. You will see from August 7, the AAP will launch awareness in all constituencies. We will hit the roads and try to build pressure on government to expose the truth and book the involved in the scam,” he said.
He said whether there will be AAPs government in J&K or not, the party will always stand on its commitment firmly.
J&K Football Association (JKFA) has rocked with Rs 43-lac ‘Biryani Scam’ as the amount sanctioned for the development of sports was allegedly swindled by those at the helm of affairs.
Soon the scam was unearthed; the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) registered a case against the JKFA for misappropriation of funds provided to them by the Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council for the promotion of football.
While talking to reporters, the AAP senior leader alleged that like previous governments in J&K, the present dispensation has also failed to curb the menace of scams. “We urge upon the J&K Government to move beyond formation of SITs and book the culprits without any delay,” he said.
He said that the AAP is committed to expose all scams happened in previous past in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
He lamented on regional mainstream political parties and said, “NC and PDP like political parties in their times have pampered the scam culture and shook the essence of democratic institutions,” he added.
About ‘HarGharTiranga’ mission, the AAP leader said that compelling daily wagers and lower class employees to buy tricolor is a “shameful” act which should have been avoided. “Government of India should win hearts and minds of the people of J&K instead of compelling employees to purchase tricolor”, he said.
