98 % power restored in valley: KPDCL

Srinagar, Jan 09: A day after the valley received widespread snowfall, the officials at Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) said that around 98 percent of the electricity in the valley has been restored while the remaining percentage is likely to be restored by Monday evening.
As per the official data of KPDCL, 98 percent of the electricity has been restored in the valley, while the officials are saying the remaining is likely to be restored by Monday evening.
The data further reads that by 4:30 PM on Sunday 1555 MWs of load was recorded. With a strength of 117 feeders of 33 KV, no feeder was on outage, however, of the 11 KV feeders standing at a strength of 1031 in number, only 20 feeders were placed under outage status.
As per the district wise break for the outage, the data stated that district Pulwama and Shopian showed no outage in any of the feeders, while district Srinagar, Ganderbal, Bandipora, Anantnag and Kulgam showed outage for only one 11 KV feeder.
“District Baramulla and Kupwara had outage on 9 feeders of 11 KV feeders while district Budgam showed outage on 8 feeders of 11 KV '', read the stats of KPDCL.
Notably the valley received wide snowfall on 8 and 9 January after the local weather department and Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) issued adverse weather warnings forecasting heavy snowfall across the valley.
