66 sheep dies due to inclement weather in Budgam

Budgam, June 22: Due to the inclement weather conditions over the last three days across the Kashmir Valley, 66 sheep have died in the highland pastures of central Kashmir's Budgam district.
Doctor Ashraf Ahmad, District sheep officer Budgam told Rising Kashmir that the upper reach pastures of the district have received heavy rainfall and light snowfall in the last few days. Due to this 66 sheep have died in the upper reaches of the district.
"12 camps from the Sheep husbandry department Budgam has been already deputed in various locations of the highland pastures of the Budgam district which are providing proper treatment and a rescue the sheep's from the higher reaches," he said.
Dr Ashraf said that the Shepherds and locals who are grazing the sheep at various highland pastures of the District Should bring their live stocks back to the plain areas till the weather condition will get improved in higher reaches.
"In case of any emergency in the highland pastures the people can contact the contact numbers of the doctors which we have already issued in the public domain," he added.
