3 terrorists trapped in Kulgam encounter site

Srinagar, June 14: A gunfight is underway between security forces and terrorists in Mishipora village of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district in which three terrorists are believed to be trapped, officials said.
Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Vijay Kumar told Rising Kashmir that a gunfight broke out after the Special Operations Group of police, Army, and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) cordoned the area on a specific input about the presence of terrorists in the area.
He said three terrorists are believed to be trapped inside the cordon area. It is an orchard area and we have tightened the cordon outside the orchard area in the village.
Another police officer said the search parties were zeroing in near the suspected location, the hiding terrorists opened fire at them who retaliated, triggering a gunfight.
 “We have cordoned the area and all roads leading to the encounter site have been sealed,” he said.
In a tweet, "Encounter has started at Mishipora area of #Kulgam. Police and security forces are on the job. Further details shall follow, " a police spokesman said.
On Monday night, A Pakistani national among two Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorists were killed and five policemen were injured during a brief encounter in Bemina area of Srinagar, police said.
