1st Hapkido state championship concludes

Srinagar, June 20: The maiden Hapkido state championship concluded the 1st Hapkido State Championship concluded on Monday at Indoor Sports Complex in Srinagar.
As per a statement, the championship was organised under the aegis of National Hapkido Federation.
A large number of players from schools, clubs from the various districts of Kashmir participated in this event. “Cassette School, Crescent public school, White hall school, Girls higher sec school Soura, Green land educational institute, Boys higher secondary school Soura, Girls higher secondary school Nawakadal, Leez karate Dojo, International tiger’s martial arts organization,” a spokesman said in a statement.
"We recently took affiliation of Hapkido game and we found a significant interest of students in this game since it involves kicks, punches, and throwing comparable to Judo and Taekwondo," said Shahid Hilal Malik, the event's organiser.
"The major goal of organising this event is to inspire students from all around the country to come and participate," he added.
Adiya, a participant, said that such events should be held every year. "I encourage everyone in the country to participate in sports," she continued.
"The need for self-defense is essential. We should encourage our youngsters to learn martial arts and Hapkido by holding events like these,” she added
The officials present at the event included Sahiba Nisar, Tabasum, Muskan, Najeeb, Inaab ul Nabi, Mohammad Dawood, Mohsin, Muskan Sofi and others.
